My wife Judy and I had the privilege of spending a large portion of my sabbatical, spanning two glorious summer months, at Palazzo Grande. I canโ€™t imagine a more perfect way to refresh and gain perspective on the important things in life than to spend time in this historic setting. We felt welcome from the moment we came through the big gate, being greeted by Filippo and Emanuela (and of course Pablo) and then enjoying our first taste of the regional cuisine (truffles!) with amazing welcome meal they had prepared (amazing chefs!). Their incredible hospitality endured through even our lengthy stay and their knowledge of and connection to the local food and wine scene opened doors for us we would never have imagined and paved the way for some truly unique experiences.

Palazzo Grande is a perfect blending of the old and the new; a place where you can start your day having cappuccino in the formal dining room, pondering the 500 year old frescos or wander out front to the Italian Garden and sit in awe of the recently commissioned sculptures. There are no end to places to sit and read or write. Palazzo Grande is inspirational.

Palazzo Grande also makes a great base for day trips to places like Florence, Assisi, Spoleto and of course Perugia. (Too many to list!). Of course, you shouldnโ€™t miss Corciano, especially if you are there during their festival. We are avid cyclists and the surrounding countryside and neighboring towns provided no end of options for our daily rides. Lake Trasimeno is 10K away and is a great place to ride to lunch โ€“ and great views if you need some time to recover after lunch before your ride home!

While most of our days were filled with wonderful food, wine, and adventure, you can be sure that plenty of hot summer afternoons were spent lazing by the beautiful pool, under the Umbrian sun. Canโ€™t recommend Palazzo Grande enough. Already plotting my returnโ€ฆ

Captivating! Palazzo Grande stands in the center of a property of more than 70 acres, which includes agricultural land and olive grove, overlooking one of the most intriguing villages of Umbria, the Corciano.

The 18 rooms of the Palace are beautiful, ample and accomodating, all equipped with hydro-masage bath, and tastefully decorated with furniture, paintings and period objects belonging to the history of the house. It also provides the best modern comforts and amenities like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, gym, wine cellar, Swimming pool, and tennis court that compliment the elegance of the rooms and its stunning landscape.

Filipo and Manuela are super gracious hosts! They made me feel at home while away from home. Palazzo Grande might just be Umbriaโ€™s best kept secret!

I had an outstanding experience here during my 5-Day stay. I found Palazzo Grande to be ACCOMMODATING in every sense of the word. The place felt spacious yet cozy and had all the amenities i would have hoped for and more. The outstanding house managers, Emanuela and Filipo, added to the experience through their hospitality and engagement, making it feel like i was staying with Family. All of these factors combined with the beautiful architecture and scenery that is Palazzo Grande, and itโ€™s an unforgettable stay. Good vibes all around.

My wife, son, sister-in-law and I spent a week at palazzo grande in june 2019. I am reluctant to describe our time there for fear or creating a rush to rural umbria that will prevent us from visiting again. the house is spectacular! It can accommodate large numbers of people, yet has numerous warm, intimate spaces, coupled with breathtaking views of the Italian countryside. the rooms are large, en suite, often with sleeping quarters in a comfortable loft above an attractive living room. the house managers, filipo and Manuela, are wonderfully gracious hosts and first rate chefs. they fed us in the morning, whenever we were home in the evening, and often packed lunches for our day trips. at our insistence, they even joined us for dinner nearby and were excellent company. they seemed to appear when we needed them and disappear when we did not. the house is classic old world Italian beauty with modern conveniences, such as a/c, gym, pool, etc. incidentally, umbria is what people are looking for when they think of Tuscany, which has become overrun with tourists. not so for umbria and the numerous medieval walled hill towns within it. I cannot say enough good things about it. unless the owners object, we will be back (more than once).

I stayed at Palazzo grande with my mother last summer and we had an epic time! We were on a tour of the most awesome parts of the country and made a point to make this a destination. the location is perfect as its close enough to fun and entertaining cultural destinations, but its surrounded by a beautiful backdrop of italy's countryside. The building itself is so cool. Its a mixture of historic italy with all the elements of what you need for a 5 star vacation. I look forward to going back very soon.

Palazzo grande is an Italian dream. Its setting, unique majesty and hospitality make it more than an accomodation, but rather an experience like no other. Somehow palazzo grande is not stuffy or overly formal. Instead, it's charming and perfect for a relaxing day at the pool or an upscale dinner party. If you're looking for something super special, this is it.
